Zamboanga del Sur has two major governing components: the Governor and Provincial Council.
The Provincial Council is the legislative body, establishing provincial policies, while the Governor is the administrator, designated to carry out the directives of the Council. Our Provincial Council is led by the Vice Governor as Chairman and thirteen Council Members elected by district.
The Governor and Council Members serve 3 year terms.
